[{"fields": {"is_featured": false, "dir_size": 4212, "igdata": "making yorkshire puddings i made this ignitable to show how my nana from nottingham england makes yorkshire puddings from scratch. i hope you enjoy this century old recipe. first you will need to cook a beef roast in a slow cooker or the oven. do not discard the fat (drippings) left in the pan after cooking the beef. you will need the drippings to make the yorkshire puddings. to start making yorkshire puddings you will need a mixing bowl and three ingredients... ...first you will need regular all purpose flour. ...then milk... ...and finally eggs. the amounts used in this recipe are enough to make one (1) yorkshire pudding that would fit in this size pan (9 inch diameter by 1 inch in depth) first you take one (1) cup of flour... ...and place it in the bowl and add 1/2 teaspoon of salt to the flour. then place two eggs into the flour... ...as shown here. then mix the eggs into the flour until it becomes clumpy... ...as shown here. then slowly pour in a 1/4 cup of milk. this is repeated until you have mixed in one (1) full cup of milk. do not pour the entire cup of milk in at once because it will create clumps. whip the mixture with fork until all clumps are gone. it should take about 10 minutes. the mixture should be a little thicker than pancake mixture. let the mixture stand for about one (1) hour. place in the cooking pan a 1/4 cup of the reserved drippings from the roast. place the pan and the reserved drippings into the oven and... ...heat for 5 minutes at 450 degrees fahrenheit. the cooking pan needs to be very hot before pouring in the yorkshire pudding mixture. whip/mix the mixture in a blender for thirty (30) seconds just before removing the hot pan from the oven. after five minutes at 450deg f, remove the hot pan and place on a surface that will not burn... ...and then pour in the mixture. immediately return the pan to the oven which is still set at 450 deg f. do not waste time getting the pan into the oven. other than whipping, keeping the pan hot is one of the keys to insuring that the yorkshire pudding will rise. now bake for 20min at 450 deg f. after 20min reduce heat to 350 deg f for 10min and your done. remove the yorkshire pudding from the pan and serve. i like placing the roast beef on top of the pudding. add roast beef, vegetables and english gravy and voila you have roast beef and yorkshire pudding. bon appetite.
